How to Embrace Your Ugly

Every time I go through some bullsh**, I’m reminded that this is going to be another story to put into the vault.

By the way, do you have a storytelling vault?

Even if it’s just a couple sentences a day, documenting your experience can become the blueprint to your next talk, workshop, or piece of content creation to get you through a creative funk.

What felt great about today? What was an area for growth? What surprised you about yourself? What did you learn about yourself and others? Becoming the author of your life means that you also get to write a different ending - if you choose to do the work to get there. and it ain’t easy to break out of some of our old stories.

It requires saying goodbye to parts of you that you’ve held on as an identity for so long.

It requires getting out of what’s comfortable (and for some folks, their comfort is suffering).

It requires finding beauty amongst the fragmented pieces.

But damn will it make for a good story one day, especially if you surround yourself with the right folks who are also doing the inner work and lovingly call you in on your sh** when you’re forgetting how freakin powerful and badass and resourceful and resilient you are.⁣
